2011 JUNIOR RUGBY GRAND FINAL RESULTS

The Central Coast Junior Rugby Union season was finalised on Saturday 10 September with the Grand Finals held at Bluetongue Stadium.  Presented with clear weather and a well grassed field all of the players performed to their best, providing a great spectacle for the large crowd.

The day commenced with a hard fought under 11 match where Warnervale upset the minor premiers Terrigal 14-7.  In all of the following matches, apart from the u15s, the Minor Premiers went on to complete successful seasons by winning their Premiership.  Terrigal u10s were presented with Premiership medallions for their success in their ‘first past the post’ competition.

In the u12s, the Woy Woy team won their 3rd straight title by defeating Terrigal 29-15.  In the u13s it was Ourimbah who were triumphant against Kariong 18-7.  Terrigal u14s completed another undefeated season with victory over a determined Woy Woy squad 33-5.

The u15s win to Ourimbah meant they became the first Club to take out 2 Grand Finals when they won a cliff-hanger with a penalty goal to Toby Carver after full time giving them an 8-7 result over Terrigal. The winners of the following two matches also gave their Clubs a 2nd Grand Final victory. Hot favourites Warnervale u16s had a tough battle against The Entrance before sealing the match 29-12.  The last match of the day showcased the Juniors who will be progressing into Senior Competition in 2012.  In a tough and skilful encounter it was Woy Woy took the honours over Avoca Beach 22-17.

At the completion of the day Andrew Lawler (Avoca Beach u17s) was named the CCJRU player of the season.
